Discord Discovery turns activity from Discord servers into public posts. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted.

What we read from Discord

  • Channels that a server's team explicitly enabled, and single messages the team sends with Post on Discord Discovery. The bot ignores everything else.
  • From those channels: announcements and native polls posted by the server's team, poll results, and a count of messages per channel per day.
  • Messages written by regular members are counted and never published. For their polls and their messages in announcement channels, we keep only the message id and the reason it was not used, and delete that after 30 days.
  • Role names and colors, so the owner can choose which roles count as the team. Only the owner sees them.
  • We never scrape Discord. Everything comes through the official bot API.

What we publish

  • Posts written with AI from team announcements and poll results. Members are never named.
  • Server name, icon, description, and member and online counts.

For some well-known servers that have not added our bot, we show an unclaimed listing built from the server's public Discord invite: its name, icon, banner, description, and approximate member and online counts. We store only the invite fields the listing needs. Anyone who can manage the server can remove its listing at any time.

AI processing

We send the source text to Google's Gemini API (paid tier) to write each post. Google does not use it to train its models. We never sell Discord data or share it with anyone else.

Your account

When you sign in with Discord we store your Discord ID, username, avatar, email, and the servers you can manage. We discard the rest of your server list. We also store your upvotes. You can see this data, download it, or delete your account on Your account.

Messages from the bot

When you add the bot to your server, it sends you one welcome direct message in Discord. All other direct messages from the bot stay off until you turn them on in Settings. Discord Discovery keeps a 30-day log of which notifications were sent and whether they were delivered, without message text.

Analytics

We count page views and join clicks so server owners can see their stats. To count unique visitors, we store a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day. We never store your IP address.

Recruit links

When you open a recruit link from a server, we store one cookie that holds the address of that server's page, for up to 30 days. We use it only to credit that server if you list your own, and we delete it when you add a server.

Deleting data

  • Server owners can unlink a server from its settings page. That deletes the page, its posts, upvotes, stats, and stored channel data at once.
  • If the bot is removed from a server, the page is hidden right away and deleted after 30 days.
  • If a source message is deleted in Discord, the post made from it is removed.
  • To download your data or delete your account, go to Your account. For anything else, email ell8935@gmail.com.
  • Deleting your account deletes your profile and upvotes at once, and every server you listed with its posts and stats.
